About Tina Hickman
Tina has been drawing and painting throughout her life. After studying basic drawing and painting techniques in high school, she largely set her pencils aside for nearly twenty years.
When she returned to art, she began exploring a variety of color media before discovering pastels. Their versatility and vibrant colors captured her imagination, and pastel sticks and pencils have remained her primary tools ever since. Although she continues to work in graphite and other media, pastels hold a special place in her heart.
Alongside her traditional artwork, Tina developed her signature Glimpse style, using light, shadow, and carefully chosen details to suggest far more than is actually drawn.
Her subjects range from wildlife and beloved pets to people, landscapes, and everyday objects. Whether capturing a fleeting expression, the power of a breaking wave, or the play of light across glass, Tina enjoys exploring the distinctive qualities of each subject.
